Get answers to common questions about Dermaplane Facial.

Most clients experience little to no discomfort; the treatment is gentle and relaxing. At Blue Birdie Beauty our Dermaplane Facial lasts 80 minutes, including cleansing, enzyme exfoliation, facial and hand/arm massage, customized mask, and finishing products.

No. Dermaplaning removes vellus hair at the skin surface only; regrowth is the same texture and rate as before. Hair appears softer with time. Regular treatments maintain smoothness but do not change hair color, thickness, or growth pattern.

For most clients, treatments every four to six weeks are recommended to maintain smooth texture and optimal product absorption. Your esthetician at Blue Birdie Beauty will customize frequency based on skin type, sensitivity and your facial care goals.

Dermaplaning is safe for many sensitive or acne-prone clients when performed by a trained professional. Active cystic acne, open lesions, or severe rosacea may contraindicate treatment; your esthetician will assess skin and recommend alternatives or modifications.

Avoid retinoids, strong acids, or aggressive exfoliation for at least three to five days before and after treatment. Stay out of direct sun, use SPF, and follow at-home product guidance from your esthetician to protect newly exposed skin.

Minimal downtime — most people return to normal activities immediately. You may notice mild redness or sensitivity that subsides within 24 to 48 hours. Follow aftercare instructions, avoid heavy makeup for a day if sensitive, and use gentle skincare and SPF.
